These students arrived in Mérida, Yucatán to have an intercultural experience, improve their Spanish, and pursue their studies in this beautiful city.

Each student has been hosted by a local family, allowing them to experience the culture firsthand, engage in family life, and feel like a member of a Yucatecan family.

Their stay in Mérida is designed to be a fully immersive experience. They are exploring the beautiful landscapes and rich history of Yucatán, while also learning about its traditions and customs. Additionally, they have had the opportunity to taste typical dishes, discover the music and dances, and visit various iconic sites.

The students are attending classes at the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY), where they are taking courses related to their major along with Spanish language lessons. Furthermore, every Wednesday, they participate in the community service program "Service Learning", located in the southern part of Mérida. There, they contribute to academic and recreational activities for children and community members.

Throughout their stay, they have visited iconic places such as Progreso Beach, cenotes, and archaeological sites, enriching their knowledge of the culture and natural beauty of the region. They also took a trip to Chiapas, where they explored the local culture, textiles, cuisine, and archaeological sites.

We are thrilled to see how more and more young people are interested in visiting Mérida and having a life-changing experience they will never forget.
