What made this trip so unique were the passionate, caring, and incredibly wise teachers, tour guides, class speakers, and on-the-ground organizers of this program. I would recommend this program to anybody who appreciates and looks for immersive travel experiences— not only does living with a host family provide this, but so does the context of the courses and excursions. I would re-live this program in a heartbeat if I could. There’s been so much information and new knowledge right in front of us that can be hard to absorb all at once. If I could give any advice to future students of this program — find a sponge, find your own way of absorbing information and moments because 10 weeks come and go so quickly. For me, it was journaling and taking notes on excursions that helped the moments live on and not just pass me by.
