Doña María Eugenia, better known as Doña Marú, is originally from Espita, a town in the interior of the state of Yucatán. She has been a widow for 16 years and has three children and eight wonderful grandchildren.
Doña Marú is a cheerful, talkative, and always positive person. She has hosted students for 25 years, as she loves meeting new people and cultures, as well as helping students improve their English.
She is passionate about cooking, going out with her friends, watching movies, and listening to music. Every Sunday, she plays the guitar in the church choir and spends the day with her daughter.
