Doña Lety was born in Tabasco, a neighbor state close to Yucatán. She married a Yucatecan man and moved to Mérida long time ago. She is now a widow and has seven children: Catalina, Carlos, Leticia, Claudia, Enrique, Lorena and Ricardo who are all adults and live in different houses. She also has eleven grandchildren.
She lives by herself in a big house and her children visit her frequently and spend time with her. Doña Lety is a responsible, happy, social and friendly person and has a lot of experience hosting students from different institutions and countries.
She likes to work on her garden, make crafts, weave, dance, go to church and go out with her friends. She also has a dog named Brownie who loves to meet new people.
